Bhubaneswar: In view of the prevailing sultry weather conditions, the Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur administrations have revised the timings of schools and Anganwadi centres from 6.30 am to 9 am to safeguard health and ensure well-being of the children.

“All government, government-aided, and private schools in the district shall conduct classes only during the e

arly morning hours till 9 am,” the directive issued by the office of Collector, Cuttack, on April 19, said.

The same applies to functioning of Anganwadi centres.

The Jagatsinghpur administration issued a similar directive for all schools on April 21. Adequate precautionary measures, including safe drinking water, sufficient ORS packets and restrictions on outdoor activities, must be ensured during school hours, the orders added.

While these orders will remain in force till further instructions, the administration would review the weather condition again and take decisions accordingly.

Notably, government and private schools across the state had already rescheduled class timings from 6.30 am to 10.30 am from April 3 till the start of summer vacation.
