Bhubaneswar: The state government on Thursday announced that offline classroom teaching for the students of Classes VIII and XI will begin after Dussera vacation.
The Odisha School and Mass Education Department in a notice said the physical teaching of both the classes, which have been suspended for several months in view of COVID pandemic, will resume after the vacation.
The schools will reopen on October 21 after the vacation declared by the government from October 9 to 20 in view of Durga Puja and Kumar Purnima.
The physical classes for Classes IX and XII students are already being held in adherence to CIVID guidelines. The students of these classes have also been given the option of attending online classes.
Earlier in the day, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said schools may reopen for Classes I to VIII after the vacation if the COVID condition improves.
