Odisha Vigilance Raid: SE Found With 2 Buildings, 2 Flats In Bhubaneswar & 4 Plots

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Monday unearthed two multi-storey buildings, 2 flats in Bhubaneswar and four high-value plots, along with Rs 1.25 lakh in cash, during raids on Superintending Engineer (SE) of Irrigation Division in Angul, Surendra Behera, on allegation of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Assets detected in the name of Behera and his family members are as follows:

Residential Property

1. Triple-storey building over 4200 sqft area at Sundargarh town.

2. Double-storey building over 3500 sqft area at Chhend, M/20, Gopabandhu Nagar, Rourkela.

3. One 3-BHK flat at Aurovila-1, Phase-3, at Ghatikia, Bhubaneswar.

4. Another 2-BHK flat in the same locality in Bhubaneswar.

5. High-value plots (one each in Sundargarh and Rourkela & 2 in Purusottampur, Ganjam).

6. Rs 1.25 lakh in cash.

7. 3 two-wheelers

The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently conducting detailed measurements and valuation of the identified properties and assets. Bank deposits, other financial investments, and deposits are also being ascertained.

The simultaneous house searches were carried out by teams led by 3 DSPs, 10 inspectors, 4 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh, at 8 places, including his govt quarters and office room in Angul, and in Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Sundargarh and Ganjam.
