Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police arrested Seashore chit fund accused Subhankar Nayak for allegedly misbehaving a woman and assaulting her son, on Sunday.
A complaint was lodged at Kharavela Nagar police station that evening, following police picked him up from his house at night and later arrested him after interrogation.
“He had been harassing me and my son for a long time. Today, he misbehaved me and slapped me and beat up my son,” the woman told mediapersons at the police station.
Asked about the matter, Nayak said he has neither misbehaved the woman nor assaulted his son. “I don’t know them,” he added.
Sources in the Commisionerate Police said that the woman had called up the police control room at night. Acting on the complaint, a PCR van went to the Chandrama apartment and picked up Nayak from his residence. The woman and her son arrived at the police station thereafter and lodged a complaint against him.
Police have registered a case against Nayak under Sections 354, 341, 323, 427 and 294 of the IPC.

Several incriminating documents including two gold biscuits and cash worth Rs 15 lakh were seized by the central investigating agency during a raid at his residence.
However, he was released on bail in August 2017.
