Second Campus Of Acharya Harihar Cancer Centre Very Soon: Minister
Cuttack: The construction of the second campus of the Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre in Cuttack will begin very soon, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das on Tuesday.
Briefing the media after attending the governing body of the cancer centre, he said the new campus will have 425 beds and a state-of-the-art ICU.
He also said that the state government will take steps to fill up vacant posts of doctors at the cancer centre and increase the number of doctors for other government hospitals in the state.
One of the 25 recognised regional cancer centres in India, Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre was founded on February 2, 1981, as the Radiotherapy department of the SCB Medical College and Hospital. It was converted into an autonomous body on April 24, 1984.
