Bhubaneswar: As many as 70 platoons of police force and 400 senior police officers will be deployed in Puri to beef up security for Bahuda Ytara on Wednesday, Additional Director General (ADG), Law and Order, Soumendra Priyadarshi informed on Tuesday.
The ADG also said that except the sevayats who have tested negative for COVID-19, no one else will be allowed to pull the three chariots.
As part of the security measures, the district administration will clamp a curfew in Puri town from Tuesday night to prevent devotees from congregating to witness Bahuda Yatra, the ADG said.
He urged Puri residents to watch Bahuda Yatra on TV at home and not to come to Bada Danda (grand road).
