Puri: The district administration on Saturday carried out security rehearsal for the visit of President Ram Nath Kovind to the Temple Town on Monday.
The President and First Lady Savita Kovind are scheduled to visit Jagannath temple here to have darshan of the deities on Monday morning.
Puri SP Kanwal Vishal Singh told the media persons that as part of security measures for the President’s visit, a carcade rehearsal was performed from Talabania helipad to Jagannath temple.
As many as 40 platoons of police under the supervision of 13 senior officers will be deployed for the security of the President and his wife during their visit.

In the evening, the President and his wife were received by Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi on their arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar.
