New Delhi: The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has postponed ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) first semester exams, which were scheduled to begin on November 15.
In a notice issued late on Tuesday night, the council said that that the exams had been postponed ‘ due to reasons beyond control’.
“The CISCE has decided to postpone the ICSE and ISC Year 2021-2022 Semester 1 Examination due to reasons beyond our control. All stakeholders will be informed of the revised schedule of the examination in due course of time,” the official notice read.
In August, the CISCE had decided to bifurcate each of the exams into two semesters – first semester exams to be conducted in November this year in online mode and the second semester in March/April 2022 either online or offline, depending on the Covid situation.
Notably, the date sheet for the exams was released on September 9. The Semester 1 exam for Class X was scheduled from November 15 to December 6 and that for Class XII from November 15 to December 16.
Earlier this year, the CISCE had cancelled both ICSE and ISC board exams for 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The results were prepared on the basis of evaluation criteria.
