Bhubaneswar: Senior journalist Ramesh Rath has tendered his resignation as an employee of Odisha Television Ltd (OTV) citing health and personal reasons.
In a press release, Rath has said he was harassed and humiliated by the Keonjhar police who had forcibly picked him on October 15 and taken away his two mobile phones.
Stating that he has been falsely implicated in the case of an alleged morphed video of the BJD leader and Keonjhar MP Chandrani Murmu, Rath said he has done a number of investigating stories in the last 20 years and the police for the first time have treated him as a criminal and issued a notice to appear on October 21.
The Keonjhar Police had picked up Rath a day after the OTV aired his story on the basis of the information provided by RTI activists on the aerial survey of the flood-hit districts by the Chief Minister .
