Only Service To Odisha On Mind, Says Late Politician Sarat Kar’s Son Sobhan

Bhubaneswar: Sobhan Kar, former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer and son of late politician Sarat Kar, said Odisha’s development is the only thing on his mind at present.

The former Income Tax Commissioner had taken VRS on December 31, 2020 with an aim to serve society.

Speaking to a local news channel, Sobhan informed that he has kept open the option of joining politics to fulfil his endeavour.

When asked about joining politics or any specific party, Sobhan said, “Politics is a medium to serve people. If I get a scope through politics I will give it a thought.”

He said: “I am a good team player and can also be leader. I will not shy away from politics as my father himself was a great politician and a confidante of late Biju Patnaik.”

The son of the former Odisha Assembly Speaker said he plans to establish Sarat Kar Foundation and work for Odisha’s growth and development. “I want Odia youth to work within the state and for that I wish to create an environment for such minds,” he added.
