Koraput: The Central University of Odisha on Wednesday announced its plan to introduce seven new inter-disciplinary courses – Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Social Work, Psychology, Political Science and Public Administration and Public Health – by the next academic year 2021.
The proposal to start these new programmes was initiated by the Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. I. Ramabrahmam at their eighteenth meeting of the Academic Council held at the university campus at Sunabeda in Koraput.
Besides, the university informed that it had received almost 12,000 applications for the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET 2020) and the number is likely to increase further before the last date for online admission i.e. June 6, 2020.
The meeting also deliberated upon collaborative arrangements that were finalized in academics with frontline PSUs like NALCO and HAL and research organisations like DRDO and SC/ST Research and Training Institute.
Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor also informed the members that the University was likely to receive substantial funding for infrastructure development.
