Berlin: Several people were injured in a knife attack on a highspeed train in Germany’s Bavaria, police confirmed Saturday morning. The attacker has been arrested.
“According to preliminary information, several people were injured,” police in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz said in a statement, assuring that “there is now no more danger”.
The train, one of Germany’s highspeed ICE trains, was traveling between the Bavarian cities of Regensburg and Nuremberg at the time of the attack.
The accused was arrested at Seubersdorf station, police said. So far the identity of the attacker or his motives are not known.
A spokesperson for the German railway network confirmed that the station in Seubersdorf has been closed since 9 am.
