Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Tuesday issued thunderstorm with lightning warning for several places in Odisha during the next three days.
A Yellow Warning has been issued for 17 districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and bhadrak.
Heavy rainfall forecast for Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Kandhamal till June 2 morning.
For the next 24 hours from June 2 morning, thunderstorm and lightning activity has also been predicted for Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur,
Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri,Gajapati, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh and Khurda districts.
From June 3 to 4 morning, one or two places over the districts of
Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur districts, stated the mid-day bulletin of India Meteorological Department.
As per the latest meteorological indications, the southwesterly winds have strengthened, resulting in likely enhancement in rainfall activity over Kerala where the onset of monsoon is expected around June 3.
Partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely to prevail over Bhubaneswar. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 37 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively, the bulletin stated.
