The weather agency issued orange and yellow warnings of intense heat for different parts of the state for the next three days. Heatwave condition is likely to prevail at a few places of Balangir, Angul, and Kalahandi, while severe heatwave may prevail at a few places of Jharsuguda, and Boudh in next 24 hours. Orange warning was issued for these districts during the period.

Similarly, yellow warning was issued for Sambalpur and Sundargarh.

On March 18, heatwave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places of Jharsuguda, and Boudh where orange warning was issued. Likewise, yellow alert was sounded at one or two places over the districts of Balangir, Sundergarh, Angul, and Kalahandi.

On March 19, heatwave condition may prevail at one or two places of Boudh where orange warning was issued. The weather agency has issued yellow warning of heatwave at one or two places over the districts of Balangir, and Jharsuguda.

No large change in day temperature is likely to take place for the next three days. Temperature is likely to drop by 3-5 degree Celsius after March 19 as the weather agency has predicted rain and thunderstorms in some parts of the state under the impact of ‘kalabaisakhi.’
