Rayagada: Police on Monday busted a sex racket that was operating from a rented house in Shekhar Nagar under Gunupur police limits in Rayagada district on Sunday night.
Four persons, including a broker, have been arrested in this connection. Two women hailing from neighbouring states of Odisha engaged in the prostitution racket were rescued from the spot.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided the house and found the customers in a compromising position.
In a similar raid that was carried out by police in Sambalpur district on July 27, a prostitution sex racket was unearthed at Shaktinagar following which seven persons, including the house owner, were detained.
Five women were also rescued from the house.
A number of objectionable items were also recovered from the spot.
On July 25, a sex racket running from a hair salon and spa near Keshari Talkies in Bhubaneswar was busted by Commissionerate Police. Prostitution and other illegal activities were being carried out there under the garb of the spa, police had sources said.
