New Delhi: Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday granted bail to outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and assistant secretary Vinod Tomar on a personal bond of Rs 25,000 each in the alleged sexual harassment case.

The court imposed certain conditions on Brij Bhushan, though. According to LiveLaw, the court directed the six-time BJP MP not to leave the country without prior intimation to the court. He has also been directed to not, directly or indirectly, indulge in threat or inducement to the complainants or witnesses.

The next hearing in the case has been listed for July 28.

Two days ago, the court had granted Brij Bhushan and Tomar interim bail.

Brij Bhushan, who attended the first day of Parliament’s Monsoon session today, was accused of sexual harassment by several female wrestlers, with some of the leading names staging prolonged protest demanding his arrest.

Delhi Police had filed a chargesheet against Brij Bhushan and Tomar under sections 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), 354A (sexually colored remarks), 354D (stalking), and 506(1) (criminal intimidation) of IPC.

A separate case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was also filed against Brij Bhushan in relation to allegations made by a minor wrestler against him. But that case was later cancelled as allegations were taken withdrawn.
