Bhubaneswar: A local court on Monday granted bail to OAS officer and Director of National Ayush Mission in Odisha, Bibhu Prasad Sarangi, who was arrested on charges of sexual harassment.
The Court of Additional District & Sessions Judge granted bail to Sarangi against two sureties of Rs 10,000 each.
On July 9, Mahila Police in Bhubaneswar had arrested Sarangi for allegedly sexually harassing a contractual female employee.
The woman had alleged that Sarangi had been forcing her to get into a physical relationship for the last three months by sending her obscene text messages despite her repeated objections.
On his part, Sarangi had filed a counter case through a person. He had said that the contractual appointment of the complainant was found illegal during a recent inquiry.
