Mumbai: Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and actor Shahid Kapoor believe that Geeta and Aditya, the lead pair of ‘Jab We Met’, would be at a divorce lawyer’s office today because of their different persona.
Agreeing with Imtiaz’s assessment about Geet and Aditya’s not-so-happy ending, Shahid told The Indian Express, “That’s actually a fun idea that Geet and Aditya are now breaking up because they are frustrated with each other. Aditya is like, ‘She is her own favourite, who can ever put up with her’?”
The re-release of ‘Jab We Met’ last year saw scores of fans turning up to the theatres to watch the cult romantic film.
Shahid, who didn’t want to undermine the love of fans, added, “If our filmmaker thinks these two will divorce each other, then who am I to come in between? I am just an actor.”
‘Jab We Met’ starred then real-life pair Kareena and Shahid, who parted ways at the time of the film’s release.
Following their break-up, the two haven’t worked together, except in ‘Udta Punjab’, in which they didn’t share screen.
During the film’s trailer launch, when they were asked about a sequel to ‘Jab We Met’, Kareena said that Imtiaz would decide about that, while Shahid joked that the filmmaker has ‘moved on.’
