Sambalpur: A 70-year-old woman was allegedly attacked and raped at Pandiadhipa near Mahulapali in Sambalpur district late on Thursday.
The incident occurred when the woman was sleeping at home. Some miscreants sexually assaulted her. Following this, the woman fell unconscious.
Some locals rescued the old woman and took her to the Kuchinda Sub Divisional Hospital in a critical condition.
Police said they have detained one person in this connection. Further investigation is on.
