Shikhar Dhawan is officially out of the World Cup because of his left thumb injury during the match with Australia.
A fast bowl by Australia’s Pat Cummins had hit Dhawan’s left thumb. Dhawan scored 117 off 109 balls in that match but he could not field in the same match. He had already missed the last two matches against New Zealand and Pakistan.
Risabh Pant, wicket-keeper/batsman will be his replacement.
