Mumbai: Shilpa Shinde has won praise for her portrayal of Goddess Sita at Delhi’s Ramlila, with pictures and videos of her look gaining attention online.
Several fans have compared her appearance to Kriti Sanon and Sai Pallavi, who have also portrayed the mythological character on screen.
In the viral video, Shilpa is seen as Mata Sita asking Lakshman to go in search of Lord Rama. However, Lakshman initially hesitates, expressing concern about leaving her alone.
Her portrayal has drawn appreciation from viewers, with one user commenting, “She looks pretty,” while another wrote, “Better choice than Kriti and Sai Pallavi.”
Shilpa is a familiar face on Indian television, having appeared in several shows before gaining widespread recognition as Angoori Bhabhi in the popular sitcom ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’.
Her stint on the show ended following a public fallout with its makers.
After a nine-year-long rift, she returned as Angoori Bhabhi in 2025 for the revamped version, ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain 2.0’.
Over the years, Shilpa has also appeared in shows such as Lapataganj, Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev, Do Dil Ek Jaan, Chidiya Ghar and Maayka.
She went on to win ‘Bigg Boss 11’ and participated in reality shows including Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 14.
She also appeared on Ektaa Kapoor’s reality show Lock Upp, where her interactions with fellow contestants and friendship with Shreya Kalra attracted attention.
Shilpa finished as the third runner-up, while Shreya won the season and the ₹1 crore prize. Shivangi Joshi emerged as the runner-up.
