Shopkeeper Duped Of Rs 80,000 By Man Claiming To Be Doctor In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A shopkeeper was duped of goods worth Rs 80,000 by a man claiming himself to be a doctor in Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, the man went to a shop selling household gadgets in Chandrasekharpur of the city on Thursday. He identified himself as Dr Bikash to the shopkeeper and told him that he was also involved in social services.

The self-style doctor, who was wearing a gold chain and holding a I-phone, wanted to purchase a television and a water purifier to donate to an NGO working for helping the poor people. Believing his words, the shopkeeper gave him the required gadgets worth Rs 80,000. After loading the goods in his vehicle, the man managed to escape from the place without making the payment.

According to the shopkeeper, he believed in the man by his appearance and costly phone he was holding. The shopkeeper has filed a complaint in this regard at Chandrasekharpur police station.
