Should Airlines Charge Extra For Printed Boarding Pass? Flyer Complains To Scindia
New Delhi: Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Saturday promised to look into complaints of airlines charging extra for boarding pass.
“Agreed, will examine this asap!” Scindia said, responding to a tweet that complained about SpiceJet.
“New rule of SpiceJet. If you wish to get a boarding card at the check in counter, you need to pay extra. This is like telling a customer In a restaurant that if you want eat in a plate, you will be charged. Wonder what’s conssumer forum doing!@flyspicejet,” Dr Neeti Shikha tweeted.
“Ridiculous .Is @JM_Scindia listening?” wrote Madhavan Narayanan, responding to her tweet.
IndiGo charges a facilitation fee of Rs 200 for airport check-in but doesn’t charge for boarding pass.

This is against public policy of india- what if a consumer doesn’t have a smart phone! Do you charge a consumer extra for a ticket that he already paid for! @grumpeoldman @AjaySingh_SG
