Shraddha Walker Rerun In Bengaluru: Chopped Pieces Of Woman’s Body Found In Fridge

Bengaluru: In Bengaluru’s Vyalikaval area, a brutal incident has triggered the memories of Delhi’s Shraddha Walker case. Much like the 2022 Delhi incident, the dismembered body of a 26-year-old woman was found in a refrigerator in Bengaluru, police said on Saturday. The body was reportedly cut into over 20 pieces.

The victim has been identified as Mahalakshmi. Her body has been chopped into multiple pieces, and kept in the fridge in a one-bedroom apartment where the victim reportedly lived alone.

According to reports, the police suspect that the murder has taken place about 2 to 3 days ago. Police have sealed off the area. A forensic team and a dog squad were deployed to aid the investigation.

“There is a one BHK house within the Vyalikaval Police limits. The body of a 26-year-old girl was found cut into pieces and stored in a refrigerator. Prima facie, the incident did not occur today; it appears to have happened 2-3 days ago,” Sathish Kumar, the Additional Commissioner of Police (West Zone), said, as quoted by India Today.

Sources said Mahalakshmi was separated from her husband, Hemant Das, earlier this year. She was a native of Nepal and has a 4-year-old daughter, reports claimed. The daughter lives with her ex-husband. Reports claimed that Hemant reached the crime spot on hearing the news. Reports also claimed that her former husband used to come to her house with their child every fortnight.

Earlier, Shraddha Walkar was killed and cut into pieces by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla in Delhi on May 18, 2022. Poonawalla had allegedly strangled Walkar and cut her body into 35 pieces, and stored those in a refrigerator before gradually disposing of them around the city over several weeks.
