Mumbai: In a new twist to television actor Tunisha Sharma’s mysterious death case, the prime accused and the deceased’s co-actor Sheezan Khan is said to have told the police on Monday that he ended his relationship with Tunisha as he was mentally disturbed following the alleged murder of Shraddha Walker by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala.
According to reports, Sheezan told the Waliv police that the repercussions of the Shraddha Walkar case, which has been dubbed by some as ‘love jihad,’ he ended the relationship with Tunisha. “Walker and Poonawala were from different communities and it was the same with Tunisha and me. I was so disturbed following that incident that I ended my relationship with her,” Sheezan said during interrogation.
According to Sheezan, Tunisha had attempted suicide after they broke up. “She attempted suicide a few days before her death too, but I saved her at that time. I told Tunisha’s mother to take care of her,” police said quoting Sheezan.
It is worth mentioning here that the duo broke up about a fortnight before she was found dead inside a toilet on a TV shoot set on December 24. The police did not recover any suicide note from the spot.
On Sunday, a court in Vasai sent Sheezan Khan to police custody for four days in connection with Tunisha’s alleged suicide case. Sheezan was produced in the court after his arrest in connection with “abetment to suicide” registered against him under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code.
