Odisha Cop Gets Three-Year Imprisonment In Bribery Case
Bhubaneswar: Sub Inspector Rama Chandra Sethi was given three-years of rigorous imprisonment by Special Judge, Vigilance in a bribery case on Tuesday.
A fine of Rs 10,000 was also imposed on him.
Sethi, SI of Chandrasekharpur police station, was convicted for demanding and accepting Rs 4,000 from a complainant, Jitendra Kumar Padhi. He will have to undergo an additional rigorous imprisonment of six months if he fails to pay the fine.
According to sources, the SI demanded the bribe to settle a dispute between Padhy’ s family and their tenant, Pandab Swain.
