Singer Jitendra Haripal Of ‘Rangabati’ Fame Undergoes Operation In Odisha’s Sambalpur
Sambalpur: Singer Jitendra Haripal of famous Sambalpuri folk song ‘Rangabti’ has undergone operation in a private hospital in Odisha’s Sambalpur.
Haripal was admitted to the Vikash Multi Specialty Hospital in Sambapur with complaints pain in lower abdomen on Monday. Following various tests, the doctors diagnosed that he had kidney related problems besides hernia. Following the diagnosis, he underwent operation, hospital sources said.
“As soon as Haripal came to the hospital with the complaint of abdomen pain, he was admitted in the Emergency ward. A team of three doctors of the hospital checked him and different pathological tests were conducted. He was diagnosed with hernia besides kidney problem,” said Dr Dilip Nanda of the hospital.
Haripal was taken to the operation theatre and the team of doctors performed the surgery. His condition following the surgery was good and he is recovering, Dr Nanda said.
Haripal shot to fame for ‘Rangabati’ song which assumed a cult status after gaining popularity worldwide. He sang this duet song with his female co-singer Krishna Patel. Haripal has sung over 1000 songs and is regarded as a top exponent of Sambalpuri songs.
Haripal was conferred Padma Shri in 2017 for his contribution to Indian music.
