Berhampur: The performance of popular singer Sona Mohapatra was the major attraction on second evening of Gopalpur Beach Festival in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Sunday.
With the sprawling beach at Gopalpur, the venue of the festival, registering a huge footfall of women, Sona, the golden voice of Odisha presently settled in Mumbai, entertained the audience with her scintillating songs.
‘Sattriya’ dance by Sattriya Dance Group from Guwahati in Assam, X Factor Dance Troupe from Kolkata in West Bengal and Gondnrutya from Nabarangpur in Odisha also won the hearts of the audience with their energetic performances.
Local artists from Ganjam including Nrutya Academy and Saranchana performed Odissi, while Aradhya Dance Academy, Taruna Kalakar Sangha and Natraj Dance Troupe showcased their excellence in folk dance.
The performance by Dream Dance Academy, Real Star Dance Group, Radiance Dance Academy, Somaya Dance Academy, Sruti Dance Academy and Liana Foundation to the beats of modern songs won the hearts of young audience.
The evening’s guests were Minister of Housing and Urban Development Usha Devi, Minister of Women and Child Development Basanti Hembram, Kabisuryanagar MLA Latika Pradhan and Aska MP Pramila Bisoyi.
