Sisir Saras To Begin Tomorrow In Odisha Capital; Know The Timings & Special Attractions
Bhubaneswar: The rural fair ‘Sisir Saras 2023’ will be held at Baramunda field in Odisha capital from Friday. The exhibition will continue for 17 days till January 29.
According to sources, the fair will be held from 11 am to 9 pm on all days. At least 350 stalls will be set up by more than 600 rural producers from across the country this year.
This fair is organised by Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS), a society under Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water Department, and Odisha Sports Department with an aim to create market linkage between rural producers and urban consumers.
Several food stalls, handloom silk, wrought iron works, handicrafts, winter garments, and household decorative items from across the state and from 24 states of India will be on display.
There will be paper and handcrafted stationery from Puducherry, iron handicrafts from Uttar Pradesh, tussar clothes from Chhatisgarh, bamboo handicrafts from Assam and Tripura, woolen clothes from Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Manipur, jute products and handicrafts from West Bengal, chanderi clothes from Madhya Pradesh, decorative items and shawls from Gujarat, leather products from Punjab, handcrafted products from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal.
Apart from these, handicrafts from Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh will also be showcased.
ORMAS has arranged special provisions such as battery-charged cars, wheelchairs, and volunteers will also remain present for all specially-abled persons.
