Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Sitalasasthi Committee is gearing up to celebrate the festival of divine wedding ‘Sitalasasthi Yatra’ on May 30 with great enthusiasm and fanfare.
Though Sitalasasthi is a festival on the marriage of lord Shiva and
goddess Parvati, it will be celebrated in tune with Hindu rituals. Going by the schedule, lord Shiva will return in a carnival called ‘Nagar Parikrama’ from Kedargouri temple at 10 pm, covering Gosagareswar, Teeni Mundia, Badheibanka and Mahakhela squares in Old Town.
The grand journey of the deities will be accompanied by traditional dances and music including sambalpuri, ghanta badya, dulduli, kandhei nacha, naaga nacha, mahila kalasi nrutya and dhola mahuri, which will form attraction of the carnival, Bhubaneswar sitalasasthi committee president Suresh Kumar Routray said at a press meet here on Friday.
