Puri: In order to ensure sanctity of Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri, the temple administration has issued a set of guidelines for its employees.
Chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Arabinda Padhee on Friday said the 5-point guidelines have been issued to maintain piety inside the shrine through disciplined behaviour by the employees.
He also warned that violation of the guidelines by any employee would lead to the SJTA to take remedial measures against him.
Following are the guidelines for the SJTA employees:
- Officials or subordinate staff cannot consume any kind of intoxicating substances (including paan, beedi, cigarette and gutkha) inside the temple or SJTA office premises.
- They cannot use mobile phones inside the temple. In case of emergency situations, specific officials can use their phones to convey any important information, but in a restricted manner.
- They are requested to wear Khadi or any handloom clothes made in Odisha on Fridays.
- Performance of the deities’ rituals has been given utmost priority by the SJTA and accordingly, actions will be taken against those who will be found guilty of any fault or any indiscipline.
- They have to submit a declaration of their properties as of January 1.
