Bhubaneswar: Skoda has launched its biggest product – the Kodiaq SUV in India. It costs Rs 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The price is same throughout the country. Unlike its competitors (Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero), the Kodiaq is available on only one fully loaded trim.
The Kodiaq is Skoda’s first seven-seater SUV in India. The Kodiaq has been named after an Alaskan bear and has a length of 4697 mm, a width of 1882 mm, a height of 1665 mm, a wheelbase of 2791 mm and a 188 mm ground clearance. Powering it is the popular 1986cc four-cylinder 150 bhp and 340 NM turbo-diesel engine. It is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox and is all-wheel drive. It runs on 18-inch alloys. The ARAI claimed fuel efficiency is 16.25 kmpl. It has a generous 270-litre boot with an option to fold the seats in 40:20:40 ratio.
Skoda boasts of a horde of new features on this SUV. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is complemented by a 12-speaker Canton stereo. The interiors have a 10-colour ambient lighting system. A panoramic sunroof is standard. Powered tail-gate, hands-free parking assist, three-zone climate control, drowsiness sensor and a magnetised flashlight that can be detached form part of the features list. The Kodiaq has unique plastic bumper type pop-outs that protect door edges in tight parking spots. The Kodiaq also comes with a ‘sleep’ package that enables two flaps at the side of the headrests that help you keep your head in place. The second-row seats are adjustable. Umbrellas in door pockets are standard.
The Kodiaq has received full five stars at Euro NCAP safety rating. It comes with nine airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist and a multi-collision braking system.
Skoda is offering a comprehensive maintenance package at ₹ 59,999 for four years.
The Kodiaq is available in four colour options – Magic Black, Lava Blue, Quartz Grey and Moon White. The Skoda dealership in Bhubaneswar is located at Mancheswar Industrial Estate.
