Slain Odisha Minister Naba Das’ Daughter Asks Narasingha Mishra Not To Raise Questions On Father’s Character
Bhubaneswar: Responding sharply to senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra’s remarks on Naba Das murder, slain Minister’s daughter Deepali Das on Tuesday urged him to refrain from making speculations on her father’s killing.
Amid reports about medical board finding no abnormality in mental condition of accused policeman Gopal Das, Narasingha Mishra earlier in the day had hinted at a possible personal enmity behind Naba Das’ murder.
Stating that she has known the senior Congress leader since childhood, Deepali told reporters that her father used to respect him a lot and both of them have also worked together for a long time.
Noting that Naba Das was murdered barely 38 days ago, she said at this moment of grief for her and her family, such remarks, casting aspersions on the character of her father, is uncalled for and unethical.
“Such comments raising questions on my father’s character have hurt me and my family. Such comments don’t look good on you (Narasingha),” said Deepali.
Deepali further said that if the senior Congress leader has any information pertaining to the murder of her father, he should furnish those with the court or the police.
Earlier, Mishra had said that he was informed by sources about the accused Gopal Das approaching Naba Das for a job for his niece. “Something might have transpired during those meetings. Things will become clear if Gopal’s niece is questioned,” he said and raised suspicion about the family hatching a plan to eliminate the minister.
