Slight Increase In New Cases After 2 Days; 7 Districts Turn COVID Free
Bhubaneswar: After reporting new COVID infections in single digits for two days in a row, Odisha on Tuesday saw a slight rise in the daily caseload with 11 more persons testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours against six each on Monday and Sunday.
According to the I & PR department, six of the new cases are from quarantine while five are local contacts. One among those infected is in the age group of 0-18 years.
Here is the district-wise tally of new cases:
1. Bargarh: 1
2. Cuttack: 4
3. Ganjam: 1
4. Sambalpur: 4
5. Sundargarh: 1
With these cases detected from 6,265 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.18 per cent. With 22 more recoveries in the last 24 hours, Odisha now has 137 active cases.
It is pertinent to mention here that seven districts – Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Ganjam Rayagada, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri – are COVID-free with nil active cases, as per the state COVID dashboard.
