Bhubaneswar: Dr Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, eminent neuro-surgeon and presently principal advisor (Health Sciences) at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) in Bhubaneswar was felicitated by SOA’s founder president Prof Manojranjan Nayak on being decorated with the Padma Shri by the Central government.
Dr Mahapatra, who headed the neuro-surgery department at AIIMS, New Delhi and was appointed the first Director of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, also served SOA as its Vice-Chancellor.
Prof Nayak congratulated Dr Mahapatra on being bestowed with the honour saying his contribution to the nation in the realm of healthcare was immense.
Dr Prasenjeet Mohanty, SOA’s Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Student’s Welfare), Prof Ayaskanta Mohanty, Dean, Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS) and Prof Manoranjan Das, Associate Dean, IBCS, were present.
