SOA Kabaddi Team Emerge Champions At ‘Shaurya-2019’ Sports Carnival

Bhubaneswar: SOA Deemed to be University’s kabaddi team humbled Centurion University 48-23 in the finals of the inter-college sports carnival ‘Shaurya-2019’ to emerge the champions.

The three-day event was organised by Parala Maharaja Engineering College in Berhampur.

Altogether six teams participated in the Kabaddi event, with SOA being grouped alongside Parala Maharaja Engineering College–A and Centurion University. The other group comprised National Institute of Science and Technology, Berhampur, Government Engineering College, Keonjhar, and Parala Maharaja Engineering College-B.

The carnival also included football and volleyball in which SOA did not participate.

In the Kabaddi event, SOA outclassed Parala Maharaja Engineering College-A 60-18 in the first group match before brushing aside Centurion University 52-16 to top the pool. In the semifinals, SOA overcame the resistance posed by Parala Maharaja Engineering College-B 35-30 and won the title defeating Centurion University in the final, said a statement issued by SOA University.
