Bhubaneswar: Prof Neeta Mohanty, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here, has been honoured with the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam National Award for her expertise in the field of oral health, innovation and research.
She received the prestigious award at the Global Conclave on Oral Health Innovation and Research organised by the Indian Dental Association at New Delhi recently.
The awards were presented to honour visionary leaders who inspired and influenced the future of oral healthcare. The awardees included 12 other luminaries in the field of oral health.
Prof (Dr) Mohanty also addressed a symposium on ‘Hereditary Cancer Syndromes and Oral Cancer: Genetic Counseling and Preventive Strategies’ held as part of the conclave. Besides, she spoke in the panel discussion on the subject:
‘Transborder Collaborations: Methods, Innovations, Challenges, Opportunities and Future Directions’.
Rajesh Mishra, Dental Surgeon and Member of Parliament, graced the occasion as chief guest and gave away the award at the conclave held on February 15 and 16.
The conclave was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Indian Council for Medical Research, World Health Organisation, Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO), Federation Dentaire Internationale (FDI), International Association for Dental Research (IADR), Healthcare Incubation Centres and Oral Health Trade and Pharma Industry.
