Bhubaneswar: During his Odisha visit to attend the Mandia DIbasa celebration, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has the unique opportunity of getting a taste of the iconic Rasagola at Pahala near Bhubaneswar.
Accompanied by Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, the Union Minister visited a sweet shop, Tarini Mistan Bhandar at Pahala in Cuttack on Monday while returning from an event in Cuttack and savoured the famous Pahala Rasagola.
Both were treated to hot Rasagola and Chhena (cottage cheese). Chouhan shared a video of his visit to the sweet shop on social media.
As per information, shop owner Alok and his nephew Debi Prasad offered the delicacies to the dignitaries. Chouhan praised the taste and texture of the Rasogola, describing it as ‘soft and tasty’.
Chouhan and Singh Deo also purchased around 1,000 rupees worth of Rasagola and Chhenagaja as takeaways, promoting the local sweet treat.
“A sweet pause with a sweeter purpose! While returning from Cuttack last evening, I had the delightful opportunity to share Odisha’s iconic Pahala Rasogola with Hon’ble Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Ji.
More than just a dessert, Rasogola is a symbol of Odisha’s culinary heritage—steeped in tradition, devotion, and craftsmanship. Its unique taste, born from centuries of cultural refinement, now carries the fragrance of Odisha across the globe.
As we savoured each syrup-soaked bite, it was heartening to see how this humble sweet has become a proud ambassador of our state’s identity and legacy,” Singh Deo said in a post on social media.
