The system is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm over westcentral and adjoining eastcentral Bay of Bengal by October 24. Thereafter, it is expected to move north-northeastwards and reach near West Bengal-Bangladesh coasts on October 25, skirting Odisha coast.
While Odisha may well be spared by this cyclone brewing in the Bay of Bengal, the state will receive heavy rainfall from Monday onwards under influence of this season’s second tropical storm. Heavy showers will continue from Monday to Wednesday, said IMD, Bhubaneswar, Director HR Biswas.
