Bhubaneswar: In order to promote awareness about space science among the students, the “Space on Wheel Exhibition” was inaugurated at the Capital High School, Unit III in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Samir Ranjan Dash, Minister of School and Mass Education recollected the laboratory of his school and compared it to the laboratories and scientific facilities of the students at present.
Addressing the students, Ashok Chandra Panda, Minister of Science and Technology said they are fortunate to have the Space on Wheel Exhibition in their campus.
Dr Parul Patel, Group Director, RTCG, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) called upon the students to strive to become scientists and join ISRO to lunch a space craft of their own.
K Sudarshan Chakravarty, Khurda collector; Susanta Kumar Rout, MLA, Bhubaneswar (North); Ananta Narayan Jena, MLA, Bhubaneswar (Central); Laxminarayan Padhi, Senior Scientist, Science and Technology department and Biswanath Tarai, DEO-cum-DPC, SS, Khurda also spoke.
The exhibition will remain open to students and public from February 12 to 14. It is jointly organised by ISRO-SAC-VSSE and Science and Technology Department of the state government in collaboration with School and Mass Education department.
It will be streamed live on YouTube for around 2 lakh students of 3,906 5T High Schools from 10 am to 12 noon on Monday. They can watch the exhibition on the link https://youtube.com/channel/UCzw5knEfkp3fQgbX7Le0YYQ on YouTube, according to a release of Information and Public Relations department.
