Cuttack: Taking note of leakage of question papers during the ongoing annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examinations in Odisha, the state Crime Branch has formed a special team.
Sources said a special team of Crime Branch Cyber Cell comprising of a DSP and an Inspector will keep a close was on the conduct of examinations at different centres in Odisha. Besides, the Crime Branch has warned the persons involved in the circulation of question papers on the social media to refrain from such illegal acts failing which stern action would be initiated against them.
It may be recalled that the president of Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Dr Jahan Ara Begum had informed the Crime Branch Cyber Cell following the leakage of English question papers.
BSE secretary Ramashis Hazra said as the local tehsildars and police frequently visit the examination centres there is no question of leakage of question papers from any centres in the state.
Talking about the leakage of Mathematics question paper on the social media, he said some persons have snapped photos of the question paper and posted this on the social media after the conclusion of the examination.
“The Board has given strict instruction to the centre superintendents to ensure that no one except them carry their mobile phones to the examination hall. We request the students and the guardians not to get panicked by such instances and cooperate the Board in the smooth conduct of the examinations,” said Dr Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, Controller of Examination, BSE.
