Bhubaneswar: Odisha athletes stamped their authority on the Special Olympics Bharat which concluded at Rohtak on Saturday.
Odisha finished with 34 medals, including 13 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals.
The six-day event, held at Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak (Haryana), brought together around 600 athletes from 26-27 states and Union territories, who competed in various track and field events to promote inclusion and empower individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who inaugurated the meet on February 2, announced that a dedicated stadium with residential facilities for persons with disabilities will be constructed in the state.
