Bhubaneswar: In view of the heavy rush during winter holidays, Indian Railways has introduced special trains. Here are the special trains running through Odisha:
PURI-SAI NAGAR SHIRDI SPECIAL TRAIN
08429 Puri-Sai Nagar Shirdi Special train will leave Puri at 1200 hrs every Wednesday from December 4-25, and will arrive at Sai Nagar Shirdi at 2000 hrs on Thursdays. In the return direction, 08430 Sai Nagar Shirdi – Puri Specialwill leave Sai Nagar Shirdi at 0045 hrs (midnight of Thursday-Friday) on every Friday from December 6-27 and will arrive at Puri at 1100 hrs on Saturdays.
VISAKHAPATNAM-ALLAHABAD (SUBEDARGANJ) SUVIDHA SPECIAL TRAIN
82851/82852 Visakhapatnam- Subedarganj(Allahabad) -Visakhapatnam Suvidha Special will leave Visakhapatnam at 2350hrs every Tuesday between November 26 and December 10. Subedarganj is just 15 minutes away from Allahabad.
SPECIAL TRAINS TOWARDS HOWRAH UNDER ECOR JURISDICTION:
A special weekly express train is running between Puri and Howrah (Santragachi), another weekly special express train is running between Shalimar-Puri-Santragachi. These will be available till December 28.
SPECIAL TRAINS TOWARDS SOUTHERN INDIA UNDER ECOR JURISDICTION:
One weekly AC Special Express and one bi-weekly Special Express trains are being run on Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad route. One Weekly Special Express train is running between Sambalpur and Bangalore (Banaswadi). A special train is also running between Srikakulam Road-Kacheguda-Tirupati. For nature lovers, there is a daily special train to Araku from Vizag for the month of December.
Special Train Numbers start with “0” (zero) or “8”. Tickets can be booked at the counter or online via mobile app or IRCTC website.
