Berhampur: With Ganjam witnessing a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases, the district administration has initiated steps to open Dedicated Covid Hospital (DCH) in Tata Medica Hospital at Sitalapalli, here to provide treatment to emergency cases.
District collector Vijay Amrit Kulange on Wednesday requested the managing director of Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital in Bhubaneswar about the DCH and sought the services with support of its own. Kulange also requested the MD to visit the facility and start the services soon.
The Tate Hospital would provide 158 general beds and 55 ICU beds for COVID-29 patients as per the collector’s request.
The daily COVID-19 positive cases in the district suddenly jumped to 151 from 49 during the last 24 hours.
