Sports Journalist From Odisha Passes Away At 36
Bhubaneswar: Sports journalist V S Aravind breathed his last at a hospital in Bhubaneswar late on Thursday after a brief illness at the age of 36.
A native of Berhampur, Aravind started his career in journalism with an English daily newspaper in Bhubaneswar about 13 years ago. He joined Sportstar in 2018 in Hyderabad. Three years later, he moved to Delhi to work with a television network but only for a brief period and returned to the monthly sports magazine in 2022. He reported extensively on cricket, badminton and local football. Later, he specialised in motorsport and cricket and promoted as assistant editor.
Aravind battled cancer a few years ago but was soon back in the press box, reporting on his favourite sport, cricket. He also filed stories on Pakistan team during the ODI World Cup last year. He was fondly known as Anna in the circuit and shared great rapport with the cricketers and athletes from Hyderabad, Andhra and Odisha.
