Bhubaneswar: After Berhampur, police have busted a bottling unit of fake cold drink of reputed brands in the capital city.
According to sources, acting on reliable information, Special Squad of the Twin City Police Commissionerate and Food Safety Department officials on Tuesday conducted a raid on the unit in Mancheswar Industrial Estate area. The unit’s management could not produce licence or necessary permission from the authorities to produce the cold drinks.
The raiding party also found bottles of popular brands containing spurious cold drink. The Health officials have sent the drinks for laboratory test.
It may be noted that police had seized spurious cold drinks, manufacturing machines, bottles, and logos of various popular brands during a raid on a factory in Berhampur on January 26.
Earlier, fake sauce, ghee, masala, edible oil, soya chunks, paneer, tea, Gutkha and tobacco manufacturing units were busted in different places of Odisha.
