Lucknow: Air India Sports Promotion Board ended Hockey Odisha’s run in the Senior Men’s Nationals after defeating them 3-2 in Lucknow on Thursday.
With this, they ended Hockey Odisha’s run in the tournament and made their way to the semi-finals.
Though Hockey Odisha started the match on the front-foot as they scored a goal within two minutes into the game, Air India came back in the third quarter by scoring two goals through penalty corners (29’, 33’). Though Odisha struck a minute later to level the scores, Air India scored the winner in the 50th minute to clinch the semi-final berth.
For Odisha, the first and second goal was scored by Ashok Lakra and Nilam Sanjeep Xess respectively. Mohammad Faraz, scored a hat-trick for Air India.
