Bhubaneswar: With the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing yellow warning for several districts of the state due to heat wave condition for next three days, the office of Special Relief Commissioner on Tuesday released an advisory to the district collectors and officials concerned.
As per the special bulletin of the IMD, heat wave condition is very likely to occur at one or two places in Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Angul, Nayagarh, Khurda, Balasore and Mayurbhanj from 8.30 am of March 16 to 8.30 am of March 17.
The heat wave condition is also likely to prevail in the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Angul, Nayagarh, Khurda, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda on March 17 and 18 and in Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Angul, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda districts on March 18 and 19.
The SRC, in its advisory, has told the officials to circulate the warning message among the public.
While heat may be tolerable for general public, infirm, elderly and sick people may be advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during noon time. The situation may be closely monitored and action as necessary
taken, the SRC said.
