It was earlier reported that the acclaimed filmmaker’s production house has secured permission from March 1 to 28 to shoot the film in and around Deomali and other scenic spots in Odisha’s Koraput district. A significant portion of the film is expected to be shot here.
In December last year, Rajamouli had visited Semiliguda in Koraput to hunt for locations for his next movie.

Filmmakers of late are finding the natural beauty of Koraput as the perfect setting for their movies.
Last year in February, popular South Indian actresses Anushka Shetty and Ramya Krishnan shot for a big-budget multilingual film ‘Ghaati’ here and the crew made use of stunning locations in Deomali, Jeypore, Lamataput, and Kolab to capture the district’s breathtaking landscapes. Several parts of the film were shot on the main road of Jeypore town, Surya Mahal, and Jayanagar locality, including a park near Jagannath Sagar. The entire cast and crew stayed in Jeypore, according to sources.
The district, where lush valleys cradled by dense forests that erupt into cascading waterfalls, looks magical on misty mornings.
