Mumbai: Amid the ongoing investigation into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde on Sunday said she is ready to face arrest as “it’s a witch-hunt”.
“Rhea Chakraborty is ready for arrest as this is a witch-hunt. If loving someone is a crime she will face the consequences of her of her love. Being innocent, she has not approached any court for an anticipatory bail in all the cases foisted by Bihar Police with CBI, ED and NCB,” the lawyer said in a statement, news agency ANI reported.
The statement came after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) summoned Rhea on Sunday morning to join the investigation into the drug angle to Sushant’s death.
An NCB team served the summons at Rhea’s home in Mumbai, where police personnel were also seen, Hindustan Times reported.
“She has to join investigation today. It depends on her if she wants to come on her own or she can come with the team,” NCB Deputy Director, KPS Malhotra said.
NCB has said that Rhea will be confronted with her brother Showik, who along with Sushant’s house manager, Samuel Miranda, has been remanded to NCB’s custody till September 9.
